Basically when we talk about silver rounds it means silver coins that are made exclusively for private use as an investment in silver. This is why they are called rounds since they are not coins but just round like coins. They are unlike the silver bullion rounds that different governments make use of for the purpose of trade.

The size of these silver art rounds differs ranging from one ounce to several kilos. But the most popular size is the one ounce sized coin. The purity of the silver in these coins is 99.9%, though at times copper is added to give it the required durability, but however one ounce round will still have one troy ounce of silver besides the alloy added to it and hence it may weigh more than a troy ounce.

Silver art rounds will have any design on it from famous people to various animals or some well known trees or plants or some holiday symbols too. They are meant purely for the purpose of gifting or for differentiating one from the other.

There is no age bar on the quality and durability of the silver round. However old it may be its value remains the same at the prevailing market rate at the time of buying or selling. If one is into a coin collecting hobby the beautiful designed silver rounds are a good choice though they are traded for a lesser premium than the regular government’s silver bullion bars.

The silver art rounds have higher values and are priced according to their status and the icon engraved on it. A once cent silver round could fetch up to twenty seven US dollars.  The bigger the size the heavier the coin, hence two or three ounce rounds get higher values up to three hundred US dollars or more.

Rounds with the figures of famous personalities like Lincoln, Roosevelt, Washington and others are most common and priced according to their values and sizes. Coin collection is good as long as it fetches the collector fame and fortune as well. If one decides to buy the Mint silver rounds they would display the hallmark of the mint that manufactured it. Investing in silver rounds and silver bars is an interesting hobby since its value never reduces over the years but only increases.
